How it Works
Start Before Money is Spent
A General Designer™ is engaged before the architect, the contractor, or the first major decision. Here is what working together looks like.
The Process
-
A free 15-minute call to understand the property and where you are: buying, renovating, building, or selling. If it looks like a good fit, we will follow up with a short proposal outlining the next step and the fee.
-
We look at the property, the existing plans or documents, and what you want from the project. The goal is to identify what matters, what is missing, and what could become expensive if it's decided too late. You receive a written assessment of the property and the project.
-
Based on the assessment, we lay out the sequence of decisions ahead of you: which professionals to bring on and when, what each one should be responsible for, and a rough budget range. You receive a written roadmap you can follow with or without us.
-
As the project moves forward, we stay alongside you. We help you evaluate proposals, check that scopes line up, flag conflicts before they become costly, and prepare you for each decision.
Works Alongside Your Team
A General Designer™ doesn't replace your architect, contractor, or interior designer. Each of them has a defined scope. We sit above them, looking across all of it from the homeowner's point of view.
